Jennifer Scott Miceli, PhD
Jennifer Scott Miceli is Director of Long Island Sound Vocal Jazz (LISVJ) at LIU Post in Brookville, NY, where she also served as Director of Music Education from 2001-2022 and Department Chair from 2012-2018. She is a sought-after clinician, adjudicator, director, and conductor whose dossier includes frequent guest conducting invitations, as well as LISVJ appearances at San Sebastian, Jazz á Juan, and Montreux jazz festivals. A choral pedagogue who is equally comfortable in jazz and classical performance settings, Miceli serves as Music Director of Huntington Choral Society and Founding Director of Belle Voci Intergenerational Choral Society (501c3); a Long Island-based philanthropic treble ensemble comprising professional and amateur singers who rehearse and concertize in support of cancer prevention and cure. In 2023, Belle Voci was named finalist for the American Prize in Choral Performance – community division, and they extended their mission of cancer prevention and cure to the United Kingdom where they presented several performances in celebration of their 20th season promoting wellness. Miceli is the recipient of the 2021 David Newton Award for Excellence in Teaching at LIU and her book entitled Skill Building Sequence for Choral Ensembles: Volume 1-Teacher’s Guide for Children’s Choirs, introduces a pedagogical sequence for music literacy (UPA, 2015). A flutist and a singer, Miceli has lectured and performed in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. She sings regularly at historic Christ Church Oyster Bay, NY, where she serves as alto section leader. Beyond her work in music, Miceli is a Certified Chopra Wellness Coach. She and her husband, James, live in Huntington, NY with their two dogs, Gertrude and Kitsune.

Alex Pryrodny
Alex Pryrodny is a Ukraine born NYC based pianist known for his expressive sound and improvisational skills derived from lifelong study of classical, jazz and world music. After making his debut at an international jazz festival at the age of 6, Alex has performed with concerts in Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Taiwan, Japan and the United States and has won 2nd place at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition in 2012. He has recorded several piano albums and his work as an arranger has received nominations for Golden Melody Awards in Asia. In 2023 Alex’s life and work was featured in a short documentary “The Other Side of the Sea.”
